The Essential 5…Moral Fibre Food

I really love this part of my week, when I get to share with you some truly inspirational people and bask a little in their reflected glory! It seems there is no end to the talented and successful people that reside in our town and this week is no exception.

About two years ago I became aware of Moral Fibre Food, a company that produces and markets gluten, dairy and mostly sugar free, nutritious snacks. Being gluten free and loving a snack (especially a sweet one) this was a fantastic concept for me. I couldn’t believe it when I saw that the company produced in Tring! Not only this, but they successfully distribute their products in a range of outlets including Selfridges. Not bad for a company from our home town.

Of course when planning my campaign and the business stories Jenny Moloney was one of the first people I contacted. Here is her Essential 5:

When did you decide to start your business?

I started thinking about ideas for a new business in 2012 and had it up and running within a year.

Who or what inspires you?

I feed off creativity so anyone and anything creative inspires me. On a business level, Emma Jones from Enterprise Nation must be one of the most inspiring people I’ve met along the way. She is the complete business woman but effortlessly retains the personal touch. I am in awe when I see her presenting and networking.

What do you like about running a business in Tring?

I like running a business in Tring because it’s home and we are part of the community. My dream has always been to be part of a food hub so running our commercial kitchen from Mead Farm Shop in Wilstone is perfect, especially as we’re right at the source of some of the best locally produced food around.

Do you have a favourite product?

It depends on my mood but if I’m hungry, I generally reach for a Chilli Crunch or a Banananut Bite. I love all the products for slightly different reasons.

What would be your blue sky ideal for Moral Fibre’s future?

A globally recognised company that inspires and educates in the world of food and eating well. There is so much opportunity out there, it’s just a matter of tapping into it.

I think you’re probably very nearly there Jenny! Well done in creating such a fantastic, healthy brand. I love your products, your ethos and am truly proud that you’re part of the Tring community. Thanks for sharing
